    Growth & Reactivation Case Study

Reactivation Campaigns — Turning a Cold List Into $18K+ in Revenue

We ran a reactivation campaign for a client using a list of 1,200 contacts (names, numbers, and emails). These didn't even have to be past customers, just people who had shown some kind of interest before. The result was an average of $18,000 in revenue pulled directly from that one campaign.

    How It Works

The whole strategy is built around one thing: giving people a reason to act right now instead of "someday." That means a strong offer, real urgency, and enough touchpoints that people actually see it.

    The Offer

A weak offer gets ignored no matter how good your follow-up is. We build offers designed to be too good to pass up, something that removes the risk of trying you for the first time or gives a huge incentive to come back.

    Tree Service

    • Free stump grinding with every tree removal, limited to the next 10 customers in April
    • Buy one Get one Stump Grinding (normally $250), first 15 callers only
    • Buy one tree removal, get 50% off a second tree on the same property

    Landscaping / Lawn Care

    • 87% off mulch this March for anyone who books before the 15th
    • Free first mow when you sign up for a season-long maintenance plan
    • $1 lawn treatment for the first application, no contract required

    Roofing

    • Free gutter guards with every new gutters installed in January
    • $1500 off any full roof replacement booked before the end of the quarter
    • Free storm damage report, we'll even help you understand what your insurance covers, no obligation

    General Home Service

    • Free service call fee this week only for first-time customers
    • $0 down, 0% financing for any project over $2,000
    • Refer a neighbor, you both get $100 off your next service

The pattern across all of these: make the first step nearly risk-free, stack a bonus on top, and put a real deadline on it. If there's no reason to act today, most people won't.

    The Rollout Sequence

    Rollout Sequence Timeline

We tease the offer on social media first to build curiosity, then announce it everywhere at once, social (10+ posts per platform), a Facebook group post if the client has one, email, and SMS. From there, automated SMS and email follow-ups go out over the following days, 3 to 5 touches to catch anyone who didn't act the first time. As the deadline gets close, we send countdown reminders creating real urgency, "last day," "only 3 spots left," and so on. Scarcity is built into the offer itself, a set number of customers or a hard date, so it's a real constraint, not just marketing language.

We typically run these campaigns once a quarter or twice a year, depending on the client's capacity to handle the influx of bookings. Everything is customized to how the client wants to run it.

    The ROI

For the campaign that generated $18,000 in revenue, here's a simple breakdown of what that actually returned:

    Cost CategoryEstimated Cost
    SMS/email sends (1,200 contacts)$150
Ad/promo cost (offer discount value, estimated)$800
    Management/fulfillment fee$500
    Total campaign cost$1,450
    Revenue generated$18,000
    Return~12.4x

    The Bottom Line

Even accounting for the cost of running the offer itself, a campaign like this pays for itself many times over, and it's revenue that wasn't going to show up otherwise since most of that list wasn't actively buying beforehand.
